Vitamin C has long been acknowledged for its immune health benefits. However, vitamin C plays many other roles in your child’s health and
development. Vitamin C is not made in the body, so we must get it from our food. Vitamin C can be found in a variety of fruits and vegetables such as citrus fruits, apples, berries, potatoes, and peppers.
Vitamin C is important in the formation of the following:
• Collagen, blood vessels, cartilage and muscle – This helps to maintain many body tissues, including your skin. It also aids with connective tissue repair and wound healing according to one study.
• Neurotransmitters – the chemicals that are important for signaling in the nervous system.
• Carnitine – a chemical that supports the transport and breakdown of fatty acids to generate energy.
• Healthy bones and teeth – which are super important during your child’s formative years.
Vitamin C is also available as Liposomal Vitamin C. A liposome is a vesicle with a phospholipid bilayer (like our body cells have) that surrounds an aqueous core.
When a drug is in liposomal form, it allows for improved absorption in the body as well as protecting the drug from the stomach.
Suggested Use: Take 1 tsp at a time, by mouth, hold for 30 seconds or more then swallow. Repeat to desired dosage. Best taken on empty stomach. May be stirred
into a small amount of water. Once opened, use within 30 days. Refrigerate after opening.
